What is the best book out there to learn french?

I took 1 semester of french last year, I kind of got down the basics but am definitely still a beginner. Any good books out there that can help me learn french on my own?

    I can't give you anything about books but I can tell you that, if you want to learn French, or any other language for that matter, immersion is the best way (and also the fastest way).

    i say get a regular book, butalso get a book on tape, like rosettastone series.
