Learn French Phrases: This lesson covers 3 common used french Phrases. Learn to speak French for free.
*TO START DOING SOMETHING
= Commencer à faire quelque chose
→ I started learning Chinese.
= J’ai commencé à apprendre le Chinois.
*TO STOP DOING SOMETHING
= Arrêter de faire quelque chose
→ He stopped smoking last week.
= Il a arrêté de fumer la semaine dernière.
*TO GO ON DOING / CONTINUE TO DO SOMETHING
= Continuer à faire quelque chose (also « continuer de »)
→ This book is not very interesting, but I will continue to read it.
= Ce livre n’est pas très intéressant, mais je vais continuer à le lire.

This is a fantastic French Lesson, but I am wondering, usually, how long would it take for a normal person (such as myself) to learn French? Its it all depending on the person itself or the lessons…? Because I have French family over in Paris, but none of them speak English, and I want to see them.

There is no such thing as a lost cause!
But it’s not like you absolutely have to pronounce it right. I’m not even sure there is right way to pronounce it. just imitate the best you can. as long as people understand you, it’s ok!

that french r just drives me nuts. (i’m american, go figure haha) can any foreigners somewhat master it with practice or do you think its a lost cause? anyhow, these lessons are great and VERY helpful. merci!!
