Can you learn French fluently by going on exchange for 3 months?
December 7, 2007 by admin
My friend is going on exchange to Paris for almost 3 months. She's desperate to learn French fluently by the time she comes back and she's worried that she wont.
She's staying with a French family and going to a French school, and she says she'll only talk in French.
So, do you think it's possible?
Thanks!
Not a chance. You need at least two years to become fluent. She'll prolly be able to hold a conversation (speaking in somewhat broken French) but that's all.

Oui. Je pense c'est possible. Yup I think it is possible. Especially if you're friends strength lies in learning languages. Motivation also helps greatly. She maybe doesn't need to think much of the external factor because she will be immersed for 3 months. Though to be realistic, I think she'll be well be versed with conversational; there might be some words that will escape her schema from time to time though. Bonne chance!
